Mild all year at 920 metres: in Bengaluru the plant works least and the finish matters most

Bengaluru is the one city on our list where the chiller is not the main character. The air is mild, the evenings are cool and the buyers are founders, clinicians and club owners who notice joinery, glass and documentation before they notice kilowatts.

A climate that spares the chiller and exposes the finish

At about 920 metres above sea level, Bengaluru's tables from the India Meteorological Department show April as the hottest month, with a mean daily maximum of about 34 °C, and January as the coolest, with a mean minimum of about 16 °C; rain is roughly 1,000 to 1,100 mm a year, depending on the averaging period. Against Delhi's May or Hyderabad's, that is a gentle load: the cold plant runs at a lower ambient and the pull-down is shorter, so the same unit holds 4 °C with less strain. The cost of that mildness is visibility. In a city where the equipment is never fighting the weather, the details people see decide the project: the glass, the timber, the mosaic, the grout and the way the door closes.

Glass homes and the trees around them

Indiranagar, Sadashivanagar and Koramangala are the Bengaluru of old rain-trees and new glass houses. A glass-front sauna in that setting is a pavilion under a canopy: the cabin faces the garden through two glass walls and the plant sits behind a screen of bamboo. The canopy gives shade but it also gives leaf litter, so the pool's skimmer sits on the side where the wind drops its flowers, and the deck is drawn with gaps wide enough to wash through. Rain falls from May to October, with September the wettest month at about 213 mm (IMD), so the cabin's roof overhang and the deck falls matter even here.

Padel clubs and the cold-water corner

Bengaluru is the largest branded hotel market in Hotelivate's 2025 report, at about 16,700 rooms. A padel or fitness club, wherever it stands, can offer members a cold-water corner after the last set. The layout is the collective pool and the 6-8 seat cabin described on the clubs page, with shade for an outdoor pool and a drain that does not meet the court sub-base. In a mild climate we plan the pool's duty around the evening and weekend peaks rather than midday.

Longevity clinics and the quality system

A clinic in Indiranagar or Koramangala wants equipment that fits a written protocol and a quality system. We draw the first-floor slab, the drain and the plant closet at the layout stage, as in the Bengaluru clinic profile, and we hand over a water-log template that the clinic's infection-control lead approves. The clinic's physicians decide the protocol; we make no health claims.

Water, drains and the building

Ask what supplies the make-up water for the building, and what its dissolved solids and hardness are, before the filtration is specified. In apartments the drain's invert level is the first thing a plunge pool tests, and a lowered section of drain is a cheaper fix on paper than on site. A glass cabin in a living room needs its air-conditioning diffuser moved away from the glass.

March to MayThe warmest weeks; April is the hottest monthCold pool at its busiest; shade and covers as needed
June to SeptemberMonsoon, cloud and showersCabin in the evening; drains and overflow checked weekly
October to NovemberPost-monsoon, mildAnnual service visit; mild weeks for the outdoor deck

A mild city lets the owner use the suite at hours that a hot city does not allow: a cold plunge before work at seven, the cabin at nine at night. Plan the switch-on timers for those hours, and the plant's noise for the neighbours who are in bed at ten.

Apartments: the lift, the society and the quiet hours

A wellness room in a Bengaluru apartment lives under rules most freestanding homes do not have. The lift's car dimensions decide how the cabin is panelised; the society may set hours for deliveries and for any work that makes noise; and the neighbours below care about a plant that hums at night. We draw the plant's sound level, the delivery window and the lift route on the layout so that the building manager sees them before the order, not on the day.

Privacy on an overlooked plot

On a plot that the neighbours have since built round, a glass cabin that was private when the plot was bought may now face a balcony. The answers are cheap if they are drawn early: a frosted band at seated eye height, a planted screen of bamboo or areca palms, a deck that places the cabin's glass towards the garden instead of the boundary, and a pool coping that lets a bather sit below the line of the wall. We draw the sightlines from the neighbouring windows on the layout, so that the owner sees them before the order.

Is a chiller needed in a mild climate?

Yes, for 3-5 °C. The load is lighter than in Delhi or Hyderabad, so the plant works less hard, but a pool or a tub still needs one to reach 4 °C.

Do glass cabins suit a tree-shaded garden?

They suit it well, with a roof drip edge, a deck that drains and a pool skimmer on the windward side.

Can you work with a clinic's quality lead?

Yes. We send a draft water log, a cleaning schedule and a set-point sheet for the clinic's own approval.

Can a Bengaluru suite be used before work?

Yes. A timer switches the cabin on 40 minutes before the hour you set, and the pool is at 4 °C by then; the plant's noise is drawn for the neighbours' sleep, not only for yours.
